Job summary

Insight Global is seeking several OSP Engineers in Charlotte, NC, to own and coordinate fiber engineering projects through design, construction, and closeout. You will support FTTH/FTTB deployments, review designs, GIS data, and constructability, and work closely with construction teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for several OSP Engineers to join our team - ***CHARLOTTE, NC ONLY***

Compensation: 75,000-95,000 Base

Location: Charlotte, NC - 4 days onsite

Responsibilities

• Own and coordinate OSP fiber engineering projects through the full project lifecycle, from design and planning through construction and closeout.
• Support the planning, design, engineering, and construction of FTTH and FTTB networks.
• Review OSP network designs, engineering plans, GIS data, construction drawings, and related documentation for accuracy and constructability.
• Coordinate closely with construction teams, field personnel, vendors, contractors, and internal engineering teams to keep projects moving forward.
• Track project milestones, dependencies, deliverables, schedules, and outstanding engineering or construction issues.
• Manage vendor relationships and hold external partners accountable for quality, timelines, and project requirements.
• Translate engineering designs into executable construction plans and help resolve discrepancies between proposed designs and actual field conditions.
• Identify project risks and proactively resolve engineering, construction, permitting, or vendor-related roadblocks.
• Utilize GIS platforms and related engineering/project management systems to maintain accurate network and project information.
• Conduct or support field reviews and validate that engineering designs align with real-world construction conditions.
• Ensure OSP designs and construction activities comply with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and company specifications.
• Communicate project status, risks, changes, and priorities across engineering, construction, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Support process improvements that increase the speed, quality, and efficiency of fiber network deployments.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in OSP engineering, fiber engineering, telecommunications construction, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience supporting the design and construction of fiber optic / FTTH / FTTB networks.
• Strong understanding of the full OSP project lifecycle, including engineering/design and field construction.
• Experience working with GIS platforms or comparable fiber/network mapping systems.
• Strong telecommunications construction and field knowledge with the ability to understand how engineering designs translate into actual builds.
• Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience coordinating and managing third-party vendors, contractors, and construction partners.
• Ability to read and interpret OSP engineering drawings, construction plans, network maps, and related documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify project risks and navigate changing field conditions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively work with engineering teams, construction crews, vendors, and leadership.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to successfully complete a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with a large broadband, cable, or fiber provider such as Charter Communications / Spectrum or a comparable telecommunications organization.
• Experience with Quickbase.
• Experience operating in a fast-paced fiber deployment or rapidly growing telecommunications environment.
• Experience supporting multiple concurrent fiber construction projects or markets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
