Responsibilities

• Drive golf carts to staging areas and ensure proper cart maintenance.
• Provide clean, stocked golf cars with towels, scorecards, pencils and divot materials.
• Wash and refill supplies in golf cars after use.
• Charge golf cars at the end of the day.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of the Golf Car Facility and record service data.
• Support practice facility operations and range ball management.
• Assist guests as they depart and ensure clubs are cleaned and returned to vehicles.
• Collaborate with Golf Shop staff to enforce club rules and dress/beverage policies.

Club Overview

TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is a private par‑70, 7,107‑yard championship golf course located in Potomac MD, just under 20 miles from the White House. The Club has hosted over 20 championships for the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions and the Korn Ferry Tour since opening in 1986 and has earned a reputation as a formidable test for the world’s best players.

Position Overview

The Outside Operations Staff provide critical service to our members and guests, often being the first club representative to greet them. Their primary role is to ensure a smooth, enjoyable golfing experience for PGA TOUR players, members, and guests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Previous experience working in customer service, preferably in a country club or equivalent.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Assist PGA TOUR players, members and guests with their golfing needs.
• Greet and welcome members and guests at opening and closing.
• Pull all golf cars from the golf car facility to the bag staging area and load golfers’ bags onto a golf cart.
• Drive the golf cart to the staging area when applicable.
• Provide members and guests with thoroughly cleaned, stocked and operating golf cars, including towels, scorecards, pencils and divot repair material.
• Wash golf cars, wipe down, and refill with clean supplies after use.
• Drive golf cars into the golf car facility and plug them into the battery charger at closing.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of the Golf Car Facility, performing periodic maintenance and minor repairs, and updating service records.
• Service the practice facility by driving the picker, mechanically picking up golf balls, and setting up the area for play.
• Replenish practice facility ball supply and patrol the practice tee to collect trash and practice ball bags.
• Rotate the practice facility area per the tee maintenance program; collect, clean and bag balls at the end of play, ensuring range balls remain in excellent condition.
• Assist members and guests as they depart, ensuring all golf clubs are cleaned and placed in the vehicle by a staff member.
• Collaborate with Golf Shop staff to enforce club rules, including dress code and beverage policy.
• Prevent members or guests from carrying clubs in the parking lot or clubhouse areas.
• Complete special projects or other duties as assigned.

Salary

Pay Range: $18–$18 per hour.

Physical Demands & Working Environment

The position is very active, requiring lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 25 pounds, moving and/or lifting items with awkward weights, and working outdoors in variable weather conditions. Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Schedule & Travel

• Shifts as necessary based on business levels.
• Travel not expected for this position.
• Position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
