Job summary

Greenlight Networks is seeking a hands-on field technician to install and service our high-speed fiber internet in Baltimore and surrounding areas. This role involves outdoor work, ladder climbing, and building reliable connections for homes and businesses, with a keen focus on safety and quality workmanship.

You will read routing plans, operate tools such as drills, splicers, and cable cutters, and collaborate with a team dedicated to customer satisfaction and community impact.

Qualifications

• Understanding and/or interest in fiber-optic cabling, installation, and electrical background.
• Basic computer, networking, and home technology knowledge.
• Experience using industry tools and equipment such as drills, cable cutters, splicers, and hammer drills.

What Makes You a Great Fit

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Understanding and/or interest in fiber-optic cabling, installation, and electrical background

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• This role is ideal for someone who enjoys active, hands-on work and being outdoors.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions
• Ability to climb ladders up to 30 feet and hand-climb utility poles using gaffs
• Ability to work in confined spaces, including manholes
• Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in physically demanding environments
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and regularly carry up to 25 pounds
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to maintain insurability under company auto insurance guidelines
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Compensation:

The hourly pay range for this position is between $22.00 - $27.00. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
