Job summary

The City of Chattanooga is seeking an Outreach Coordinator to develop and execute civic sustainability outreach for City employees and residents. You will lead multimedia content creation, public speaking, and community events to advance city goals.

You will collect and analyze outreach data, coordinate with Parks & Outdoors, Stormwater, Community Development, and other departments, and respond to resident inquiries. Evening or weekend engagements may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Urban Planning, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Education, or Public Policy.
• Five years of experience in energy programs, community outreach, or sustainability initiatives.
• Ability to design and implement outreach strategies and campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Draft and maintain a sustainability outreach strategy for City employees and Chattanooga residents.

• Collect and analyze outreach data and report findings to stakeholders.
• Design newsletters, videos, brochures, and web content for outreach campaigns.
• Public speaking and engagement appearances at events, tours, trainings, and other outreach opportunities.
• Support additional City departments in relevant sustainability outreach activities.
