Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking an Admission Counselor to conduct direct recruitment activities in the Hudson/Jersey City area, engaging referral sources and enrollees to support youth programs. The role requires presenting to groups, coordinating tours and maintaining enrollment records.

Training starts at the Center with weekly attendance thereafter. The position offers full-time hours, with occasional nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or an associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct direct recruitment activities, including public speaking; develop linkages with referral sources such as human services agencies, recreation centers, youth organizations and churches; participate in center tours; contact potential enrollees to explore enrollment.
• Arrange for reception of candidates upon acceptance to the program.
• Follow-up on student progress, e.g., length of stay and separation.
• Prepare, schedule and provide outreach presentations in the assigned area; provide outreach presentations in support of the regional outreach efforts.
• Maintain accountability logs of organizations contacted, individuals contacted, referrals to screening agencies and subsequent enrollments.

Wage - $29.48 per hour with opportunities for overtime and bonuses.

Position: Admission Counselor

Working Location: Hudson/Jersey City area and will attend the Center once a week, starting with the first week of training at the Center.

Schedule - Full Time, 8hr shifts, Monday - Friday. Occasional nights and weekends/ may be required
