  • Maintain accurate outreach and application records to ensure compliance.

Pay Range: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour

About the Role

Better Together ND is seeking a compassionate and organized Outreach Assistant to join our Fargo team. This part-time position focuses on supporting community members by connecting them with essential services and ensuring they receive the assistance they need. This role works closely with individuals who may be struggling with substance use, mental health challenges, or housing instability, providing respectful, trauma-informed support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Assistance: Assist individuals with completing Community Connect applications, Free Through Recovery referrals, and 1915(i) applications.
  • Service Navigation: Support clients with shopping checkout and general navigation of local community services.
  • Coordination Support: Help current clients connect with their assigned Care Coordinator and maintain consistent communication.
  • Administrative Support: Manage and distribute incoming mail and respond to online inquiries from community members in a timely and professional manner.
  • Client Advocacy: Provide compassionate, client-centered assistance to community members facing substance use, mental health, or housing instability, ensuring they are treated with dignity.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts and application assistance to ensure compliance with 1915(i) standards.
  • Community Resources: Assist to build and maintain relationships with community resources and partners.
Qualifications
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience: 2 years working with vulnerable populations OR Associates Degree
  • Organization: High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, specifically regarding forms and applications.
  • Values: A deep commitment to serving individuals with dignity, empathy, and respect.
  • Background: Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check (DOCR/HHS).
  • Licensing: Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation for local Fargo-area tasks.
Hours & Compensation
  • Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour. Paid Monthly
