Job summary

Obsolete Site is seeking an Assistant Director for the Child and Youth Services Parent and Outreach Services program. You will assist in planning, oversight, and implementation of Parent Central Services on a U.S. military installation.

The role requires overseeing recruitment, monitoring the CYMS system, and promoting parent involvement through education opportunities. You will work as part of a team to implement policies covering fees, waiting lists, and enrollment procedures.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree including 24 semester hours in field related to CYS services such as early childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, or closely related field.
• At least 24 months working with child and/or youth programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
• The physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend stoop and stand on a routine basis.

Duties

• Serves as the Assistant Director for the Child and Youth Services (CYS) Parent and Outreach Services program by assisting in the planning, oversight and implementation of Parent Central Services.
• Assists with the recruitment and hiring of qualified personnel utilizing Army Standard Position Descriptions.
• Utilizes and monitors the Child and Youth Management System (CYMS) database to collect and ensures CYS Services information on patron, patron fees, enrollment, waiting list, funding requirements and program activities are current and accurate.
• Implements an active program encouraging parent involvement, and providing parent education opportunities.
• As a team member, helps implement procedures in assigned areas including fee policies, waiting list and child placement procedures, and registration/enrollment.

• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

• The Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained.
• Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required.

• Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy to include annual influenza vaccinations.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following

Successful completion of an undergraduate Degree that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in fieldwork, which directly relates to CYS Services such as early childhood/elementary/secondary/special education, child/youth development, psychology, youth program administration, or closely related field.

OR

A combination of education and experience

Courses equivalent to a major in a subject matter field (24 semester hours) appropriate to position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normal acquired through the successful completion of the 4 year course of study described above.

In Addition, All Candidates Must Possess

• At least 24 months working with child and/or youth programs.
• Experience in child and your program administration.
• The ability to plan and organize problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
• The physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working indoors and outdoors.

At least 1 year working in one of the following Dept of Defense Child & Youth Services positions: Assistant Director, Training Specialist, Supervisory Education Technician, or Facility Director.

Allowances and Differentials

• This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.

Incentives and Bonuses
