The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for expanding the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Office's presence throughout the community through direct voter engagement, voter registration, education, partnerships, public events, and speaking opportunities. This position is expected to spend significant time in the community identifying and pursuing opportunities to reach voters where they live, work, attend school, and gather. The Outreach Coordinator develops relationships with community organizations, schools, businesses, municipalities, civic groups, homeowner associations, senior communities, and other organizations to increase election awareness and voter participation. The Outreach Coordinator also uses voter registration, turnout, and precinct-level data to identify areas and populations with lower voter participation and develops targeted, nonpartisan outreach strategies to better reach those communities. The position serves as a visible representative of the Supervisor of Elections Office and must be comfortable speaking publicly, building relationships, and proactively creating opportunities for community engagement.
Community Outreach and Engagement
- Proactively identify and represent the Supervisor of Elections Office at community events, meetings, programs, and organizations where the Elections Office should have a presence.
- Build and maintain relationships with municipalities, chambers of commerce, civic organizations, schools, colleges, nonprofits, senior communities, veterans' organizations, businesses, and other community partners.
- Coordinate staffing, equipment, voter registration materials, and other resources needed for outreach events.
- Maintain outreach supplies and ensure materials are organized and available for scheduled activities.
- Track events, speaking engagements, voter registration activities, community partnerships, voter contacts, and other outreach efforts.
- Prepare reports summarizing outreach activities, results, targeted initiatives, and opportunities for future engagement.
- Coordinate with the Communications Department when outreach activities require promotional materials, social media support, photography, or other communications assistance.
- Maintain an active year-round outreach calendar, with increased community engagement leading into elections.
Voter Registration and Education
- Develop strategies to reach eligible voters who are not currently registered.
- Coordinate voter registration and election education programs at high schools, colleges, community organizations, senior communities, businesses, and public events.
- Educate voters about registration deadlines, Vote-by-Mail, Early Voting, Election Day, polling locations, and other election-related information.
- Ensure voter registration activities and information provided to the public comply with applicable laws, procedures, and office policies.
Targeted Outreach and Voter Participation
- Develop outreach plans designed to increase election awareness and access to accurate election information in identified communities.
- Review voter registration, turnout, and precinct-level data to identify geographic areas with historically lower voter participation.
- Identify community organizations, neighborhood associations, schools, businesses, and other potential partners within targeted areas.
- Track outreach activity by location, audience, event type, and voter contacts to evaluate effectiveness. Produce regular reporting as required by State.
- Recommend new or adjusted outreach strategies based on voter participation data, community feedback, and identified gaps.
- Experience in community outreach, public engagement, community relations, voter education, event coordination, public service, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with community organizations, leaders, and members of the public.
- Strong public speaking skills and comfort presenting before groups of varying sizes and backgrounds.
- Ability to independently identify and pursue new outreach and community engagement opportunities.
- Ability to understand and clearly communicate election information and voting procedures.
- Ability to review voter participation data and use the information to help develop targeted outreach strategies.
- Must be a registered Florida voter, possess a valid Florida driver's license, and be able to lift and transport outreach materials up to 50 pounds.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, communications, community relations, political science, business administration, education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in community outreach, public engagement, public speaking, voter registration, event coordination, or community-based programs preferred.
- Experience developing and maintaining community partnerships preferred.
- Experience conducting presentations, educational programs, or public information activities preferred.
- Government, election administration, nonprofit, education, or public-service experience preferred.
- Election experience is preferred but not required.
- A comparable combination of education, training, professional experience, and demonstrated community engagement ability may be considered.

- Knowledge of community engagement strategies and partnership development.
- Experience working in government, elections, nonprofit, education, or other community-focused organizations.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed both in the Elections Office and at locations throughout Seminole County.
- Frequent local travel is required to attend community events, meetings, presentations, voter registration drives, and outreach activities.
