Job summary

Palatine Library District seeks an Outreach Manager to lead the development and implementation of outreach strategies, programs, partnerships, and community initiatives. The role strengthens the Library's role as a trusted community resource, serving adults, families, seniors, schools, and partners across the district.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least three years of outreach experience, with leadership of staff, volunteers, and interns. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Three years of related experience in community outreach in a comparable business, organization, or library.
• Experience supervising staff, volunteers, and interns.
• Fluency in written and spoken Spanish or other language commonly spoken in the district preferred.

The Palatine Library District is seeking a full-time Outreach Manager who will lead the development and implementation of outreach strategies, programs, partnerships, and community initiatives. The Outreach Manager advances the Library’s strategic priorities and strengthens its role as a trusted community source, leading outreach efforts serving adults, families, seniors, schools, and community partners throughout the Library District. We are looking for an experienced, service-oriented Manager that is collaborative and resourceful with excellent communication skills who will support the Library's mission, vision, values, and cultures.

How You'll Contribute:
In general, the Outreach Manager is responsible for:

• Identifies, develops, and evaluates partnerships with community organizations, including government agencies, schools, and local groups, to support Library activities. Recommends and implements strategies to strengthen and sustain these relationships.
• Provides leadership and direction for community outreach activities and initiatives across all Library locations, including expanding outreach services to homebound individuals and coordinating volunteers who support outreach and community service efforts.
• Facilitates the exchange of information and resources among Library staff and community partners, advising on programming, outreach, and community engagement opportunities.
• Serves as a member of the Library’s Management Team and participates in strategic planning, policy development, and organizational decision making.
• Provides leadership, guidance, and support to staff, volunteers, interns, and other’s involved in outreach activities.
• Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Three years of related experience in community outreach in a comparable business, organization, or library.
• Experience supervising staff, volunteers, and interns.
• Fluency in written and spoken Spanish or other language commonly spoken in the district preferred.
• Ability to exercise initiative and to make appropriate independent decisions
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws as reflected in library policy

What We Offer:

• Salary Range: $79,157-$87,952 annually, depending on qualifications
• Full Time: 37.5 hours per week, including flexibility in schedule based on operational needs of the library.
• Benefits include 4 weeks of vacation per year; 12 days of sick time per year; 5 personal days per year; 7½ paid holidays per year; participation in Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund; medical, life, vision, and dental insurance programs; and a Lifestyle Savings Account.
