Job summary

Piedmont Health Services, Inc. is seeking an Outreach & Enrollment Coordinator to promote NC Medicaid enrollment and connect uninsured residents with available public insurance programs. The role requires bilingual ability, outreach to communities, and collaboration with partners across Burlington, NC.

Flexible hours include some evenings and weekends. The position reports to the Outreach & Enrollment Manager within Admin, offers team-based work, and emphasizes equity and access to health care

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; associate's degree preferred.
• Two years in community service/health sector; Medicaid Navigator experience preferred.
• NC Driver's License required.
• Immunizations up-to-date and medically cleared.
• Bilingual required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the point of contact for individuals and/or families contacted during outreach activities regarding public health insurance enrollment.
• Visit individuals and families to learn details about health and provide information on available services.
• Provide information about public health insurance programs and assist with applications.
• Identify documents needed for applications and answer eligibility questions.
• Refer individuals to Certified Application Assistants for assistance.
• Ensure confidentiality of all applications and records.
• Follow up on enrollment progress with individuals and families.
• Coordinate outreach with community partners and events.
• Document encounters and maintain records.

About Position

The Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator – Medicaid Ambassador acts under the direction, guidance and supervision of the Outreach and Enrollment Manager. This position is responsible for promoting awareness and access to healthcare through NC Medicaid and low or no cost programs available to the uninsured in NC. The role of the worker is to conduct outreach to individuals and families to inform and enroll them into public insurance programs, NC Medicaid, and provide referrals to health and other supportive services. Additionally, outreach activities, case management, and health education are core expectations of this position. This position requires working as a team and requires flexible hours, evenings and weekends.

• Work Location: Burlington CHC - 1214 Vaughn Road, Burlington, NC 27217
• Schedule: Monday: 8:00am to 5:00pm, Tuesday: 8:00am to 5:00pm, Wednesday: 8:00am to 5:00pm, Thursday: 8:00am to 5:00pm, Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday: As Needed
• Travel: As needed
• Hours are subject to change depending on Outreach and Enrollment events at different times of the year. Preferable for candidate to work a late night one day a week; 8:00am-8:00pm. There is possible Saturday work, in the season, but flexing hours during the week is current workflow.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Serve as the point of contact for individuals and/or families contacted during off-site outreach activities regarding public health insurance enrollment.
• Routinely visit with individuals and their families to learn details about their health and provide information on available services
• Provide comprehensive and culturally sensitive information about public health insurance programs.
• Assist eligible individuals and families in identifying documents needed to complete their applications and answer questions pertaining to the application process.
• Refer individuals and families to Certified Application Assistants for application assistance based on eligibility requirements.
• Ensure the confidentiality of all applications, records and information received in written, oral, graphic, or other tangible form.
• Conduct follow-up with individuals and families on the progress of their enrollment.
• Coordinate outreach enrollment efforts by working collaboratively with community partner organizations, local churches, labor groups and other communities entities.
• Participate in outreach, community events and other duties.
• Document and maintain records of encounters with individuals and/or families.
• Demonstrates the ability to work with diverse patient populations served and a commitment to advocacy for access to health care.

Qualifications – Bilingual Required

Education

Minimum requirement is high school diploma, preferred associate's degree in public health or equivalent experience, and/or equivalent training and/or experience;

Experience

Two years of experience within community service, health or social service sector; NC Medicaid Ambassador and/or Navigator program experience; EMR EPIC experience, strongly preferred;

Current/valid License

NC Driver's License;

Immunizations

Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.

Pay Range

$20.48/Hourly - $27.52/Hourly (commensurate with years of experience)
