Job summary

Piedmont Health Services, Inc. in Chapel Hill, NC, is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead the Nursing department and support clinical operations across CHC sites including the Mobile Health Unit and Employee Health Clinic.

The role requires NC RN license, a nursing degree, and at least five years of clinical and management experience. You will hire, supervise, and evaluate staff, coordinate quality assurance, and ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Licensure/Certification: Current NC Registered Nurse license and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years clinical and management experience.
• Immunizations: Up-to-date immunizations and medically cleared for communicable diseases.

About Position:

Utilizes the nursing process including: assessment, planning, implementation evaluation and recording of patient care and patient education. Provides support to providers by anticipating needs and providing assistance in the provision of care. Coordinates services with other members of the health-care team, internal and external, to provide complex patient care. Answers or returns phone calls. Provides onsite and telephone triage. Assist with the check in process when needed. Practices within the scope of the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act and Piedmont Health Services' policies, procedures, and standards. Hires, supervises and coordinates the orientation of new staff. Performs staff evaluations and develops Performance Improvement Plans as needed. Evaluates and coordinates ongoing training. Participates in conflict resolution. Works with management team to address center flow and operations. Maintains inventory of supplies and medications and orders as needed. Ensures all quality assurance measures are achieved. Assure adequate clinical support staffing. Provides leadership and models professional behavior to the staff.

• Work Location: 107 Conner Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Supervisory Locations: Incumbent will provide nursing management support for Chapel Hill CHC, Mobile Health Unit, and the PHS Employee Health Clinic.

Duties/ Responsibilities –

• Utilizes nursing knowledge and required skills to insure appropriate assessments.
• Assesses individual patient conditions utilizing clinical observation, medical record, verbal information and interaction with patient/family and care team.
• Identifies the impact of cultural diversity and lifestyle choices on patient condition and makes accommodations for such differences.
• Verifies and safely administers medications as ordered by provider and documents medication given.
• Utilizes clinical judgment and critical thinking to provide appropriate advice or intervention in response to triage and documents appropriately.
• Contributes to quality control/safety by participating in routine checks including code cart, medications, equipment and refrigerator temperatures.
• Assesses learning needs of patient/family and selects appropriate teaching method based on age, learning ability, and other pertinent factors.
• Performs/assists in medical procedures, treatments, and tests using skilled technique, following all prescribed safety regulations and documents as appropriate.

Qualifications –

Education: Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing.

Licensure/Certification: Current/valid NC Registered Nurse’s License and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required.

Experience: A combination of clinical and management experience totaling at a minimum of 5 years.

Preferred experience: Previous experience in an ambulatory health care setting

Immunizations: Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment

Pay Range: $81,761 - $109,880 (commensurate with years of experience)
