Job summary

Piedmont Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Representative in the Case Manager department to check in patients, complete registrations, and ensure data accuracy at PHS site locations.

The role requires strong customer service, excellent communication, and familiarity with Dentrix and Athena in a fast-paced healthcare setting. On-site daytime hours with competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

About Position

ThePatient Service Representative – Medical and Dental is responsible to successfully check in medical, dental, and behavioral health patients when they arrive and assure completion of their registration process.

• Work Location: FLOAT Staff (ALL PHS Sites As Needed)
• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Duties/ Responsibilities

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) will schedule patient appointments for our medical and/or dental sites, and complete required documentation prior to patients leaving our healthcare centers. The PSR will coordinate with Center Managers to correct denied claims to minimize our error rate, and ensure patient data is accurate and complete. This position must comply with local, state, federal, industry, and regulatory standards. The PSR must demonstrate an understanding of the HIPAA Privacy Rule and release of medical information, and possess the ability to work independently to process complex patient claims and authorization issues. This position requires excellent customer service skills and the incumbent must be an effective communicator.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of two software databases, Dentrix and Athena
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
• Must be punctual and extremely reliable
• Able to quickly learn and adapt to new processes and ideas
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented with exceptional time management skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be accurate and efficient in data entry
• Able to identify and understand issues and problems
• Able to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook
• Able to work with minimal supervision, problem solve in a high stress environment, and interact positively with all internal and external customers
• Able to determine work priorities
• Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.1 to 2 years of experience providing customer service in a healthcare organization, preferred. Experience with patient access (scheduling, registration, insurance verification), preferred;

Immunizations

Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.

Pay Range

$17.66/Hourly - $23.74/Hourly (commensurate with years of experience)
