Job description

NYSERDA Energy Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) is seeking a proactive and organized Outreach Coordinator to support community engagement, workforce development initiatives, and employer partnerships within the clean energy sector. This role involves fostering connections with employer partners, coordinating capstone projects, managing student progress tracking, and ensuring smooth communication between stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in workforce development, training coordination, and stakeholder engagement, with a passion for advancing clean energy careers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Employer & Community Engagement
    • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with employers, industry stakeholders, and community organizations to support workforce placement initiatives.
    • Represent EEDC at outreach events, career fairs, and employer engagement sessions to promote clean energy job opportunities.
    • Serve as the primary liaison for employer partners, ensuring seamless communication between job seekers and hiring organizations.
    • Conduct outreach to identify hiring trends, internship opportunities, and employer needs to align workforce training with industry demands.
  2. Capstone Coordination & Workforce Development Support
    • Oversee Capstone Project coordination, ensuring student progress tracking, partner engagement, and reporting.
    • Track and monitor student performance, providing structured feedback and career development support.
    • Facilitate weekly team meetings, summarizing action items and ensuring accountability.
    • Coordinate student scheduling, class organization, and engagement with training and career services teams.
    • Assist with career readiness initiatives, including resume workshops, mock interviews, and employer matchmaking.
  3. Program Administration & Data Tracking
    • Maintain accurate records of student data, employer interactions, and job placements in collaboration with the Career Services team.
    • Generate progress reports on outreach efforts, employer engagement, and workforce development impact.
    • Ensure compliance with funding requirements (e.g., NYSERDA PON 4000) through proper documentation and reporting.
  4. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
    • Support internal teams by preparing reports, presentations, and key takeaways from employer meetings and outreach events.
    • Gather and analyze employer feedback on program effectiveness to refine outreach strategies.
    • Coordinate with industry experts, policymakers, and funders to align outreach efforts with clean energy workforce initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs, Workforce Development, Environmental Science, Communications, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • 13 years of experience in community outreach, workforce development, employer engagement, or program coordination.
  • Strong ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including employers, job seekers, training providers, and industry partners.
  • Experience with data tracking, CRM tools, and workforce placement platforms.
  • Knowledge of clean energy workforce trends, NYSERDA funding mechanisms (PON 4000), and energy policy initiatives.
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred) to support diverse workforce participants.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with disadvantaged communities and job seekers in career transition.
  • Familiarity with NYC workforce development programs and employer incentive structures.
  • Understanding of NYC Local Laws 97 and 87, clean energy incentives, and sustainability policies.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple stakeholders and track workforce program outcomes.
