Job summary

The NYC Department of Transportation is seeking a Community Coordinator to support ACCO’s Office, assisting management in planning, implementing, coordinating and monitoring programs including M/WBE and vendor integrity. Qualifications

Job description

The NYC Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) is seeking to hire a Community Coordinator/Office Title: Analyst/Community Coordinator in DOT ACCO’s Office. Assists the ACCO management in planning, implementing, coordinating and monitoring various programs and initiatives established by Oversight agencies, including the Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) initiative and vendor integrity and responsibility, ensuring conformity and compliance with Chapter 13 of the City Charter and the Procurement Policy Board (PPB). Coordinates and works closely with DOT staff and the vendor/contractor community to ensure that all procurement activities are compliant with the necessary requirements. Manages various phases of procurement and related activities. Utilizes the PASSPort and other Citywide systems for review, analysis, and processing of various documentation procurement and vendor responsibility. Makes recommendations on standard operating procedures. Interacts with vendors and contractors on solicitation, responsiveness and award requirements, on selection criteria and documentation required, ensuring efficiency and improvement in communication between the ACCO’s Office, DOT units and vendor/contractor community. Reviews and prepares various reports and recommends responses to inquiries from various sources, including community inquiries and investigations related to vendor responsibility decisions or vendor performance. Coordinates with staff of various NYC agencies and NYS agencies. Schedules and attends meetings with vendors and community outreaches. Performs other equivalent functions as required by the management.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  2. 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  3. 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
Preferred Skills

Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.Proven ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of project managers, administrative staff, and vendor community.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
