Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking an Athletic Trainer Floater to provide flexible clinical and outreach coverage for high schools, events, and orthopedic clinics. The role focuses on injury prevention, on-field emergency care, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return‑to‑play decisions.

The candidate will work with physicians, coaches, schools, and healthcare teams, traveling locally and sometimes evenings or weekends to ensure uninterrupted patient care and departmental

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from a CAATE program.
• Current athletic training certification by the BOC.
• Currently licensed or eligible for state license within 30 days of hire.
• CPR/AHA Healthcare Provider (BLS) training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services at collegiate and/or professional events to support community service goals.
• Assist with on-site medical care during practices and events.
• Maintain daily treatment logs, injury reports, and medical inventory management.
• Collaborate with directing physician and sports medicine team on referrals and return‑to‑play decisions.
