About the Department: The Office of Outreach, Student Success, and Engagement (OSSE)supports the goal of bringing the world to the College ofEngineering and Computing (CEC) and CEC to the world. OSSE ensuresthat CEC students, undergraduate and graduate, have access toeducational, professional development, and social engagementopportunities that empower them to develop and leverage their ownagency as they seek to achieve their academic, professional, andpersonal goals. OSSE is also dedicated to ensuring that faculty andstaff within CEC who impact student success are provided with thetools needed to support student achievement.

About the Position: The Outreach and Engagement Assistant provides administrativesupport to OSSE. This position supports the office's studentengagement, outreach, and scholar program portfolio while alsoexecuting key administrative functions including purchasing, roomreservations, event logistics, form creation, and financialreconciliation. The position focuses specifically on OSSE's workwith the Resident Learning Community (RLC), the NACME ScholarsProgram, registered student organizations (RSOs), and externalpartners.

Responsibilities:

• Supports the NACME Scholars Program including coordinatingscholar communications, tracking academic status updates, andassisting with portal data entry and reporting;
• Coordinates OSSE's RLC programming and activities incollaboration with RLC coordinators and university life staff;
• Coordinates logistics for external partner programming and K-12outreach events in collaboration with the OSSE Director;
• Serves as OSSE's initial point of contact for CEC registeredstudent organizations including NSBE, SHPE, SWE, IEEE, ACM, andothers;
• Handles day-to-day administrative functions including roomreservations, P-card purchases and reconciliation, Dynamic Formscreation, and general office operations;
• Supports planning and execution of OSSE signature eventsincluding BLAST-Off Week, Innovation Week, and OSSE Talks; and
• Maintains program documentation, attendance records/forms, andparticipant databases.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Relevant experience in an office/administrative position;
• Prior experience with financial reconciliations;
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communicationskills and strong organizational abilities;
• Ability to effectively handle multiple responsibilitiessimultaneously and anticipate and meet deadlines, while maintainingflexibility regarding changes in priorities; and
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software, includinge-mail, online meeting applications, word processing, andspreadsheets.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
• Experience (typically 2–4 years) in student services in highereducation;
• Demonstrated experience in university student outreach andengagement programming;
• Experience working in varied and multicultural spaces and withdiverse audiences within higher education; and
• Knowledge of university procedures, policies, andregulations.
