Qualifications

• Must possess at least one unrestricted certification for appointment.
• Completion of one year of progressively complex experience equivalent to GS-9 level.
• Knowledge of motivational techniques for rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct rehabilitation training services to visually impaired Veterans.
• Identify and assess needs of Veterans using clinical resources.
• Develop and implement individual rehabilitation plans.

Skills

Knowledge of highly specialized complex evaluations

Ability to assess diverse patients

Skill in developing rehabilitation plans

Knowledge of teaching methods

Ability to coordinate treatment with professionals

Skill in recommending prosthetic devices

Ability to mentor lower-grade staff

Education
