Job summary

Vascular Surgery Medical Group is a busy outpatient vascular practice seeking an experienced Sedation RN to join the Angio Suite team. The role centers on administering moderate sedation and monitoring patients during vascular and interventional procedures.

The ideal candidate holds a California RN license with BLS and ACLS, 3+ years of nursing experience, and proficiency with EMR systems such as Athena or Epic. Per diem shift schedule available, with a focus on safety and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current California RN license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience required.
• Minimum two (2) years of procedural/critical care/SICU/OR experience required.
• Experience administering and monitoring moderate sedation.
• Strong understanding of cardiac monitoring and emergency response procedures.
• Experience with IV therapy and medication administration.
• Experience with EMR systems such as Athena or Epic.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre-procedure patient assessments.
• Administer moderate sedation medications under physician direction.
• Continuously monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, and level of consciousness.
• Recognize and respond to adverse reactions or emergencies.
• Maintain sedation records and EMR documentation.
• Ensure compliance with sedation policies and standards.
• Assist physicians during vascular, angiography, and interventional procedures.
• Provide patient and family education regarding sedation and recovery.
• Collaborate with PACU nurses for safe handoff and recovery.
