Job summary

Cardiovascular Institute of the South is seeking an Office-Based Lab Registered Nurse (OBL RN) to support outpatient diagnostic and interventional vascular procedures. You will plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care under physician supervision, exercising autonomous clinical judgment in a high-acuity setting.

Qualified candidates hold an accredited nursing degree, current Louisiana RN licensure, and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Strong clinical communication and critical thinking.
• Familiarity with vascular procedures and sterile technique.
• Knowledge of radiation safety standards.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based procedural environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and plan patient-specific care.
• Coordinate and implement treatment plans aligned with procedural goals.
• Engage patients and families in education and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and care teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Document accurately in EMRs and clinical records for each case.
• Prepare patients for procedures using sterile technique and monitor responses.
• Assist at the lab table during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Support lab operations including setup, cleanup, and supply management.
