Carilion Clinic seeks an Outpatient Urology RN for a full-time day shift at the Hillsville facility. Responsibilities include providing ambulatory nursing care, coordinating patient treatment, and educating patients and families while documenting in EMR.

Required: Virginia RN license or eligibility, BLS-HCP, and strong computer skills. Compensation ranges from $27.70 to $41.55 per hour with benefits provided. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing required.
• Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required by area.
• Keyboarding and computer literacy including EMR software.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in ambulatory setting with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality outcomes.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate patient care.
• Document care in electronic medical records and ensure accurate medication administration.
• Identify education needs of patients and families and provide instruction.
• Support performance improvement and quality initiatives within the department.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff and participate in shared decision making.

The RN Practice

• Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.

• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.

What We Require:

Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing required.

Experience: None.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.

Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.

Career Advancement Program: RNs are eligible to participate in the Career Advancement Program (CAP) to attain various levels of advancement based on performance criteria.

Compensation Range:
