Inova Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Outpatient Thoracic Surgery and Interventional Pulmonology team in Virginia. This role provides comprehensive care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary outpatient setting, partnering with thoracic surgeons and pulmonology teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Board Certified (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA); BLS certification required.
• Current Virginia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license (or eligibility).
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient evaluation and management for thoracic/interventional pulmonology conditions.
• Conduct new patient consultations, follow-up visits, and pre-/post-operative evaluations.
• Obtain histories, perform examinations, develop treatment plans, and document findings.
• Order, interpret, and communicate labs, imaging, and pathology reports.
• Coordinate pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care for seamless transitions across care continuum.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery expectations.
• Manage postoperative concerns and adjust medications as needed; engage in care coordination with specialists.
