Job summary

UT Southwestern is seeking a Therapy Technician for Outpatient Therapy to support clinical therapists in patient mobility, safety, and daily operations. The role focuses on maintaining clean, organized therapy spaces and assisting with patient care under supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma and CPR/BLS certification, with preferred experience in hospital or outpatient therapy settings. This role offers a structured clinical environment in Dallas, TX.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR (CPR AED) or BLS certification required.
• Preferred: 1 year therapy technician work experience in hospital or outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of relevant laws, policies and regulations and standards affecting decisions and interpretations.
• Develops rapport with patients and their families to maximize participation in activities.
• Transfers, transports, and positions patients.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Sets up and/or removes equipment or therapy aides for therapists as instructed; performs routine maintenance and reports defects.
• Organizes patient treatment time and unscheduled time efficiently.
• Assists in on-the-job training, education, and supervision of Physical Therapy Technicians, volunteers, and/or nursing staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
