Position Summary
Aurora Behavioral Health East is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our growing Special Needs Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). This innovative program is designed to serve adolescents and children with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodivergent needs who require a structured therapeutic environment while maintaining community and family involvement. The therapist will provide individual, family, and group therapy services while collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team to support emotional, behavioral, social, and functional growth. The ideal candidate possesses experience working with neurodivergent populations and is passionate about creating an affirming, strengths-based treatment environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Facilitate therapeutic groups within the Special Needs PHP program.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and treatment planning.
- Provide individual and family therapy as clinically indicated.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, behavioral health staff, and families to coordinate care.
- Support discharge planning and continuity of care.
- Utilize evidence-based interventions tailored to the unique needs of neurodivergent individuals.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, accreditation standards, and ethical practice guidelines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and program development.
Preferred Clinical Experience
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Neurodivergent populations
- Social skills training
- Emotional regulation interventions
- Behavioral health treatment for adolescents and children
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) collaboration or related experience
- DBT-informed interventions
- Family systems work
- PHP, IOP, or outpatient behavioral health programming
Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
- Active Arizona licensure in good standing as one of the following:
- LPC
- LCSW
- LMFT
- LMSW
- LAC
- Equivalent Arizona behavioral health license
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess or be eligible for a Level I DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred
- Experience providing behavioral health services to individuals with autism, developmental differences, or other neurodivergent populations.
- Experience facilitating therapeutic groups and psychoeducational programming.
- Experience working with adolescents and their families.
