Qualifications

• Educational requirements: Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, related field

• Work experience: Providing psychotherapy in a clinical setting
• Strong communication and listening skills; ability to work with diverse individuals and document appropriately

Responsibilities

• Provides ongoing psychotherapy to patients of all ages and families in individual or group settings with individualized techniques
• Performs initial mental health evaluations and assesses need for ongoing psychotherapy or other services
• Develops treatment plans with specific goals and objectives to address in psychotherapy
• Provides case management, referrals, discharge planning, and coordination with caregivers, employers, schools, and other providers as appropriate with patient permission
• Identifies appropriate level of care; facilitates transitions between levels of care within Behavioral Health
• Obtains authorizations for services when necessary
• Completes clinical documentation in the medical record per policy, ensuring timely, concise, relevant entries that meet payor/legal requirements
• Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA and related regulations
