Job summary

Ridge Behavioral Health System seeks an Outpatient Therapist for a full-time day-shift role in Lexington, KY. The position offers therapy for children, adolescents and adults within a free-standing psychiatric hospital setting, with a focus on comprehensive treatment planning, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and advancing patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or other mental health field required.
• Certification or licensure in social work or mental health field required (e.g., LCSW, LPCC, LMFT).
• Crisis intervention training and CPR required.
• One to two years of mental health experience required.
• Excellent written and oral communication; time management; maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic group and family treatment to patients with mental and substance abuse diagnosis.
• Coordinate treatment through treatment planning and the treatment team process.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop/implement groups to enhance treatment.
• Collaborate with treatment team to review progress and adjust plans as needed.

The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital located in the heart of the Bluegrass, Lexington, KY. The Ridge provides psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. The Ridge offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Individual Counseling, as well as Medication Management for all ages. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for more than 39 years.

Job Duties Include

• Provide therapeutic group and family treatment to patients with mental and substance abuse diagnosis.
• Coordinate treatment through treatment planning, the treatment team process, and utilization and review.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments.
• Assess, develop, and implement groups to enhance treatment of patients.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Master's degree in social work or other mental health field required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Certification or licensure in social work or mental health field required, e.g., LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, etc.
• Crisis intervention training is required and is offered upon hire.
• CPR is required and offered upon hire.

Experience

• One to two years of mental health experience required.

• Knowledge of acute psychological disorders, and advanced principals of abnormal psychology.
• Familiarity with follow-up resource services available to patients.
• Skills in conducting individual and family sessions.

• Must demonstrate the ability to treat all age populations as needed or have the capacity to develop skills through the organization’s cross-training, orientation program. Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation.
