Malvern Community Health Services (MCHS) supports children, adults, and their families, providing access to individualized, strength-based, trauma-informed behavioral health services that foster meaningful relationships and a fulfilling life in our communities.

MCHS offers expert behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and adults throughout southeastern Pennsylvania. We are currently hiring Outpatient Therapists for our Philadelphia Outpatient Services Department, which services the Philadelphia County community.

Position Summary:

An Outpatient Therapist (OPT) provides individual, family, and/or group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. The therapist promotes independence in managing mental health needs and behavioral problems. This position can be full-time or part-time, depending on the applicant's availability, with potential for hybrid work at the discretion of the program director.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide therapy (individual, family, or group) on a scheduled basis
  • Complete all paperwork within policy timeframes
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Make referrals to community resources
  • Transfer skills to clients to promote independence
  • Comply with regulations and training requirements
  • Participate in supervision
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Candidates should be client-focused, team-oriented, dependable, and possess strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The role requires compliance and performance quality awareness. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Education and experience requirements vary based on licensure:

  • Licensed mental health clinician (psychiatrist, psychologist, counselor, therapist, social worker) with graduate degree and clinical practicum experience, or
  • Master's level candidate with relevant degree and practicum experience, or
  • Bachelor's level candidate with relevant degree and practicum experience.

Experience with individual and family therapy, knowledge of mental health systems, and community resources are preferred.

Credentials and Skills:
  • Clearances for Child Abuse, FBI, State Criminal, CPR, and First Aid
