Malvern Community Health Services (MCHS) seeks to support children, adults, and their families, role models, caregivers, friends, and members of their spiritual community. We provide access to individualized, strength-based, trauma-informed behavioral health supports and services that foster choices, enabling clients to enjoy meaningful relationships and a fulfilling life in our communities.

MCHS offers expert behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and adults throughout southeastern Pennsylvania.

We are currently hiring Outpatient Therapists to join our Philadelphia Outpatient Services Department. Our Philadelphia office serves the Philadelphia County community.

Position Summary:

An Outpatient Therapist (OPT) provides individual, family, and/or group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. The therapist promotes independence in managing mental health needs and behavioral problems. This position can be full-time or part-time, depending on the applicant's availability, with the possibility of hybrid work at the discretion of the program director.

Essential Position Functions:
  • Provide therapy (individual, family, or group) regularly
  • Complete all required paperwork within policy time frames
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Make referrals to community resources
  • Transfer skills to clients to promote independence
  • Comply with all regulations and training requirements
  • Participate in supervision within policy time frames
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Candidates should be client-focused, team-oriented, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Dependability, problem-solving, organizational skills, and compliance focus are essential. The following are required:

  • A licensed mental health clinician (psychiatrist, psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, or social worker) with a graduate degree and a clinical practicum, or a Master's-level candidate with similar qualifications, or a Bachelor's-level candidate with related experience.
  • Experience in individual and family therapy
  • Knowledge of mental health systems and community resources
  • Ability to intervene non-physically with agitated clients; awareness of risks related to disease exposure and potential for client aggression
Credentials and Skills:
  • Clearances for Child Abuse, FBI, State Criminal; CPR and First Aid certifications
