Summary: Under the supervision and direction of the Program Coordinator and Outpatient Administrator, the outpatient school-based therapist will provide direct mental health services to the clients and families of Methodist Family Health (MFH) in a school-based and community setting. The clientele includes children, adolescents and their families.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical services including diagnostic assessment, individual, family, and group therapies, crisis intervention, and collateral intervention. Services are primarily in a school setting, but may also include community-based settings such as client’s home, courts, Boys & Girls Club, etc., meeting HIPAA standards.
- Develop treatment plans with clients, families, and treatment team members, and perform reviews/updates according to policies and regulations.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, staff trainings, supervision, and school-based meetings such as IEP & 504 conferences, parent-teacher conferences, and open houses.
- Coordinate scheduling, authorizations, and transfers/discharges with administrative staff.
- Complete all documentation and administrative processes in compliance with policies, regulations, and standards, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, billing, etc.
- Maintain timely communication with supervisors, colleagues, clients, families, schools, courts, and other professionals.
- Collaborate with other programs and organizations for appropriate treatment and referrals.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
- Maintain professional licensure through continuing education and provide documentation as required.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
- Licensed, in good standing, as LMSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC, LPE, LPE-I, or PhD in Arkansas.
- Ability to document accurately and professionally.
- Current Crisis Prevention Intervention, CPR, and First Aid training.
- Willing to work with all patients regardless of gender.
- Good auditory, visual, and olfactory abilities.
- Experience in school-based or community behavioral health settings and with at-risk youth.
- Trauma Focused CBT certification or in progress; other certifications preferred.
- Flexible schedule; experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
- Mandatory flu vaccination, subject to exemptions.
Additional Notes
Other reasonable assignments may be given as necessary for program operation. Ongoing access to PHI is permitted for authorized personnel as defined by policies. The description is not exhaustive and duties may change.
