About The Role

Seneca Family of Agencies is hiring an Outpatient Therapist in Oakland, CA. Outpatient Therapists work with youth and their caregivers to provide healing-centered individual and family therapy, group therapy, and case-management services, as well as conducting mental health assessments. They collaborate with teachers, social workers, probation officers, psychiatrists, and other members of the youth's care team to support and celebrate the success of youth and families in their communities.

About The Pathways Counseling Center

Pathways Counseling Center at Seneca (PCCS) operates as a general outpatient mental health clinic serving under-served children, youth, and families in Alameda County. PCCS offers trauma-informed mental health services aimed at strengthening family relationships, promoting resilience, and fostering healthy emotional development. Our services include individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, parenting support, parent-child dyadic therapy, and case management. Therapists work with clients in our Oakland clinic, as well as in homes, schools, and community settings. Our team includes licensed supervisors and licensed or license-eligible therapists. Responsibilities

  1. Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team, including teachers, counselors, specialists, and leadership.
  2. Provide individual, group, and family therapy, along with case management for a caseload of children, adolescents, and their families.
  3. Engage caregivers in treatment, discussing needs and progress regularly.
  4. Provide crisis intervention, including risk screening, assessment, triage, and service linkage.
  5. Offer consultation and coaching to caregivers and care team members based on a healing-centered approach.
  6. Complete data collection and documentation to measure service effectiveness, inform decisions, and support billing.
  7. Communicate effectively with families and other involved parties, including external agencies.
  8. Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per training.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, clinical counseling, or psychology.
  • Registered or eligible to register with the California BBS or California Board of Psychology.
  • Experience working with youth in mental health or educational settings is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation for home and community visits.
  • Clearance for TB testing, fingerprinting, and any other licensing or certification requirements.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, with at least two evenings until 7PM to accommodate clients and families.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $71,080 - $85,080 annually, dependent on experience.
  • $2,000 sign-on bonus for new employees.
  • Annual salary increases and a $4,000 increase upon licensure.
  • Additional compensation for bilingual proficiency.
