Job summary

Father Joe's Villages is seeking a Manager of SUD Services in San Diego to lead outpatient treatment programs within the Village Health Center. The role combines clinical leadership, supervision, and program oversight to deliver trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care.

You will supervise counselors, drive evidence-based practices, and coordinate with medical and community partners to improve outcomes for clients facing substance use and behavioral health challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Addiction Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Health, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, integrated healthcare, or related human services setting.
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or management experience supporting employee development, performance management, and program oversight.
• Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor through CCAPP, CADTP, or another recognized certifying body preferred.
• Experience with outpatient SUD treatment, ideally within California's DMC-ODS.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for outpatient Substance Use Disorder treatment services within the Village Health Center.
• Supervise, coach, develop, and support counselors and other staff through supervision, training, mentorship, and performance management.
• Lead implementation of evidence-based, trauma-informed, harm reduction, recovery-oriented, and MAT practices.
• Monitor referrals, caseloads, service utilization, and program operations to support access to treatment and continuity of care.
• Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, psychiatric, dental, and community partners to support integrated care and outcomes.
• Develop and implement program goals, workflows, policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Maintain a limited clinical caseload and provide counseling, group services, and treatment interventions.
• Monitor program performance, outcomes, quality indicators, and service data for improvements.
• Lead chart reviews, documentation audits, compliance activities, and quality assurance.
• Support grant implementation, reporting, partnerships, outreach, and service expansion.
