Qualifications

• Current RN/LPN license to practice in Alabama.
• Knowledge of adult psychiatric care and substance use/addictions.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in adults.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders in adults.
• Knowledge of medical illnesses in adults.
• Familiarity with psychopharmacology and psychotropic meds for adult care.
• Understanding crisis intervention and non-violent crisis management.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and evaluate outcomes; consult with specialists as required.
• Assess, plan, implement and educate patient and family.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation including histories and treatments.
• Administer medications observing the seven rights and coordinate with pharmacy.
• Perform venipuncture and monitor lab results; report abnormalities to physician.
• Provide education on medications and monitor adverse effects; report findings.
