Job summary

JWCH Institute, Inc is seeking a Drug & Alcohol Counselor to join the Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program in Compton, CA. The role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality care within SAPC, DMC, and ADP guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have CA SUD certification, experience with ASAM/ASI tools, and strong documentation skills in an EHR environment, with a commitment to HIPAA and client safety.

Qualifications

• Certified Substance Use Disorder or Registered (SUD) Counselor per CA regulations (NCCA/DHCS recognized).
• Experience with trauma-informed treatment and evidence-based approaches for substance use.
• Experience with Electronic Health Record systems (PCNX).
• Experience administering ASAM, ASI, and other assessments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with treatment team to ensure cohesive care.
• Conduct intake assessments and document via program records.
• Deliver high-quality treatment to an assigned caseload.
• Lead weekly individual counseling and care coordination.
• Facilitate counseling groups (Matrix, Seeking Safety, Relapse Prevention, etc.).
• Provide progress reports upon request.
• Ensure timely documentation within 24 hours of treatment.
