Job summary

Plumas District Hospital in Quincy, CA seeks an Outpatient Services and Float Registered Nurse under direct supervision of the Director of Acute Clinical Operation Surgical and Outpatient Services. Job description

Under the direct supervision of Director of Acute Clinical Operation Surgical and Outpatient Services, the Outpatient Services and Float Registered Nurse duties include, but are not limited to Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to outpatient infusion and therapy patients, including assessment, administration of prescribed treatments, medications, patient monitoring, education and coordination of care to ensure safe, high-quality clinical outcomes. Coordinate care with Rural Health Clinic staff and providers to ensure continuity of treatment and effective communication. Collaborate with outpatient scheduling to arrange infusion and therapy appointments, optimize patient flow, and facilitate timely access to prescribed treatments. Track patient appointments, including no shows and rescheduled visits, to ensure continuity of treatment and timely follow-up care. Prepare patient charts and conduct pre-therapy and infusion phone calls to improve patient compliance, readiness, and accountability for scheduled treatments. Coordinate medication availability with the Medication Room Coordinator to ensure prescribed therapies are available and administered as scheduled. Provide cross-coverage within Perioperative Services and Acute Care Nursing as needed, demonstrating flexibility while supporting safe, efficient, and patient-centered care across multiple clinical settings.

Compensation For Benefited, Full-Time Pay Scale
  • Base Rate $50.52-$72.03 per hour ($105,081.60 - $149,821.24 annually)
  • Starting pay is determined using our clinical pay scales, which feature 13 steps recognizing up to 30 years of relevant experience.
  • Eligible employees may also receive shift differential and holiday pay.

  • Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts
Education
  • A graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of California
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be competent in Microsoft Word and Excel
Prefered Experience
  • Two (2) years minimum experience as Registered Nurse in the Acute Care hospital setting.
  • Experience with the use of an electronic health record
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and vascular access devices
  • Strong pharmacology knowledge, specifically regarding side effects and dosage calculations
  • Exceptional patient assessment and critical thinking skills to manage acute reactions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Compassion and excellent communication skills to support patients undergoing long-term or intense treatment.
  • Follows policies and procedures demonstrate ability to access online manuals and references.
  • Completes chart prep and pre-procedure/infusion phone calls for increased compliance and accountability for treatment and continuity of care.
  • Transfers learned scientific knowledge into practical application in applying the nursing process.
  • Appropriately completes nursing assessment and screening upon patient arrival to receive therapy.
  • Interprets assessment information and formulates nursing diagnosis.
