Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, TX seeks a skilled educator to provide accurate, reliable education to physicians and extenders on outpatient procedural and diagnosis coding, including risk adjustment and CME delivery. The role conducts reviews, helps develop courses, and coordinates with physician leadership to deliver programming.

You will command ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and compliance requirements, apply adult learning principles, and serve as SME for coding questions from providers

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Licenses/certifications in coding (CCS/CPC/CCS-P/CDEO/CPMA/CCA) are expected.
• Five years of progressive experience in outpatient physician documentation and Risk Adjustment.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and coding compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and adult-education skills with the ability to train providers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides documentation and coding education to physicians and their support staff virtually or in designated clinics.
• Conducts research to update education materials for providers.
• Interprets changes in external regulatory environment and coding updates.
• Plans and conducts ongoing training with providers and support staff.
• Serves as subject matter expert to answer questions on procedural ICD-10 coding and documentation requirements.
• Maintains knowledge of outpatient coding and ensures compliance with internal policies.
