Cincinnati Children's Outpatient Pharmacy is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for the Burnet Campus in Cincinnati, OH. The role supports pediatric prescriptions for families and employees, performing unit dose preparation, compounding, triage calls, insurance adjudication, and inventory management.

Shifts are rotating with full-time schedules; 40 hours weekly, with weekend coverage as needed. Certification within 18 months is required along with OH Board registration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active OH Board of Pharmacy registration.
• Must be PTCB certified and OH Board of Pharmacy certified within 18 months of hire.
• ASHP accredited program graduate OR licensed as a Pharmacy Intern OR 6 months of pharmacy related experience.

Responsibilities

• Medication Orders - unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses; non-sterile, non-hazard dose preparation.
• Compounding - non-sterile, non-hazardous medications.
• Phone Triage - outpatient pharmacy phone triage.
• Medical Claims - insurance adjudication.
• Inventory Management - storage inspections; interact with dispensing machines and hospital computer systems.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

Team: Outpatient/Retail Pharmacy

Location: Burnet Campus, 3333 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati OH 45229

Schedule : Rotating shifts / Monday-Friday 8AM-7PM; Saturday & Sunday 10AM-2PM; every other weekend required. Closed on all major holidays.

(40 hours per week or 32 hours per week available)

Pay : Starts at $21.50/hour and can increase based on years of experience + shift & weekend

For the convenience of families whose children are being seen at Cincinnati Children's facilities, families can purchase prescription and over-the-counter medicines from our Outpatient/Retail Pharmacy. Additionally, we fill prescriptions for employees of Cincinnati Children's.

The pharmacy stocks an extensive line of products, including hard-to-find pediatric medications.

How to qualify for this job:

• Have at least 6 months of pharmacy technician experience
• Pharmacy technician certification (or ability to obtain within 18 months)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• A detail-oriented, team-first mindset

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Medication Orders - Performs unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses. Non-sterile, non-hazard dose preparation for first fill or cartfill including preparation of oral syringes from liquid dosage forms. Delivery of patient specific doses. Prepare and perform ADC replenishment.
• Compounding - Compounds non-sterile, non-hazardous medications.
• Phone Triage - Performs outpatient pharmacy phone triage.
• Medical Claims - Performs insurance adjudication.
• Inventory Management - Performs medication storage inspections. Interact with pharmacy automated dispensing machines and hospital computer systems as necessary.
