Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking an Outpatient Retail Pharmacy Tech Lead in Colorado Springs to supervise pharmacy technicians and support daily outpatient operations. You will assist the Pharmacist in prioritizing medication orders, interpreting prescriptions, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The Lead Technician will guide technicians on drug distribution, provide training opportunities, and oversee performance assessments to maintain high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• PTCB certification within six months of hire.
• Active Pharmacy Technician License (Kansas) or Colorado Certification; provisional Colorado Certification requires state certification within 12 months.
• Preferred: prior retail or hospital outpatient pharmacy technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Receives prescriptions from the patient and clarifies needed information.
• Ensures regulatory requirements of each prescription are met before processing.
• Prioritizes prescriptions by importance and urgency.
• Interprets and enters information from prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system.
• Selects the correct drug and dispenses the correct quantity when preparing medication.
• Answers the phone and greets customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
