Job summary

AdventHealth in Windermere, FL is seeking a part-time patient care assistant within our Sports Medicine and Rehab teams. You will support licensed therapists, prepare treatment spaces, and help with basic patient care and clerical tasks while providing safe, compassionate care.

This role requires a High School Grad, basic computer skills, and clear English communication. Scheduling is Monday–Friday with part-time hours; travel to nearby AdventHealth locations may be possible.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Assists in patient care duties under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
• Prepares treatment room/area for patients and maintains a safe, clean care environment.
• Attends department meetings and educational sessions as required; may perform clerical duties (front office coverage, scheduling, inventory).
• Adapts to changes in workload and supports quality standards and performance improvement initiatives.

Job Description:

• Location: Sports Medicine and Rehab 6506 Old Brick RoadWindermere, FL 34786
• Schedule: Part time 20 hours weekly Monday - Friday 12pm to 7pm or 3 to 7pm
• Travel to other location could be requested: AdventHealth Sports Med and Rehab Horizon West, AdventHealth Sports Med and Rehab Dr. Phillps and AdventHealth Sports Med and Rehab Winter Garden
• Schedule: Monday - Friday Shifts open 7am - 12pm and 3pm - 7pm
• Anticipates needs and assists staff with patient care, treatment, and other tasks by promptly carrying out assigned activities. Ensures patient and staff safety by recognizing and responding appropriately to situations that increase risk.
• Prepares treatment room/area for patients and maintains a safe, clean care environment.
• Assists in patient care duties under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, and healthcare professionals within and across care settings and communities.
• Attends department meetings and educational sessions as required. As requested, perform clerical duties, including front office coverage/scheduling, as well as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, and filling out forms.
• Adapts to changes in workload by altering working hours to assist in other areas, centers, or programs as approved by the supervisor or manager.
• Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department and Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:

• Physical Therapy Career Path

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]
