Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Recreation Therapist for the Outpatient Rehabilitation department at Aurora West Allis Medical Center, 3rd Floor. The role offers 20 hours per week, focusing on outpatient neuro rehabilitation across multiple diagnoses and potential involvement with community support groups.

You will plan and administer age-appropriate treatments, document care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote safety, functional outcomes, and patient/family

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in RT from an accredited school.
• NCTRC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plans appropriate treatment programs for adult and pediatric rehabilitation patients.
• Administers daily treatment ensuring age-appropriate plans.
• Selects adaptive equipment and trains on its use.
• Completes competency assessments pertaining to patient care.
• Assesses and schedules group therapy as needed.
• Discharges planning and home program coordination.
• Maintains computerized documentation and billing.
• Maintains productive schedule and participates in department improvement.
• Supervises rehab interns after one year of clinical experience.
• Adheres to policies and safety initiatives.
