Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Level 1 Physical Therapist Assistant to assist Physical Therapists in outpatient settings. Responsibilities include implementing treatments, documentation, and patient education across pediatric to geriatric ages, with coverage across the Rehabilitation Department as needed.

The PTA collaborates with the team, participates in education programs, and ensures safe, effective care aligned with the plan of care established by the PT.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant required by hire.
• 1-3 years experience preferable in outpatient settings.
• Knowledge of geriatric, pediatric, musculoskeletal, pediatric and cardiopulmonary PT.

Responsibilities

• Implements comprehensive individual and group treatment independently.
• Follows through with established treatment priorities based on PT evaluation results.
• Implements and monitors treatment, documents progress and discharge plans as needed.
• Develops home programs and instructs patient and caregiver.
• Communicates patient progress to team during rounds and as needed.
