University Orthopedics in East Greenwich, RI is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work under the supervision of Physical Therapists as part of the outpatient orthopedics team. The PTA will document patient progress and assist with therapeutic interventions.

The successful candidate will have an APTA-accredited PTA program and a RI license, with prior outpatient ortho experience preferred. Travel to multiple sites may be required.

Qualifications

• A graduate of an APTA accredited school of physical therapy
• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant State of RI license
• Previous experience in outpatient orthopedics/musculoskeletal rehab preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Must be able to travel to all sites if/when necessary

Responsabilités

• Observe patients before, during and after therapy, noting status and reporting to the Physical Therapist
• Help patients perform specific exercises as part of the plan of care
• Treat patients using techniques such as massage and stretching
• Use devices and equipment, such as walkers, to help patients
• Educate patients and family members about what to do after treatment
• Additional duties as assigned by the Manager to meet department needs
