Job summary

Children's Wisconsin Mequon Clinic is seeking an on-call Clinic Support Assistant to assist with patient care, rooming, scheduling, and inventory management. The role supports clinicians and therapists to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean treatment areas, verifying expiration dates, coordinating with the clinic team, and greeting families with privacy and confidentiality in mind. BLS certification and a high school diploma are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/HSED preferred.
• Experience in a pediatric healthcare environment preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors daily schedule including appointments, no-shows, and wait lists.
• Manages inventory and orders supplies as needed for department.

• This position is located in our Mequon Clinic.**

Essential Functions

• Assists with patient care related responsibilities as directed by the clinician, including but not limited to preparing supplies/materials for treatment sessions and physically assisting when patients have a physical, communication, or behavioral need.
• Assists with rooming and performs in-clinic check out and scheduling to enhance patient experience.
• Monitors the daily schedule which includes, but is not limited to, management of daily appointments, no-shows, cancelled appointments, bump list appointments, and appointments on the wait list.
• Inventories, orders and ensures that the quantity of supplies and equipment is adequate based the department needs. Orders supplies for routine care as requested by clinicians and leaders. Stocks department rooms.
• Maintains a clean, organized and safe environment within all treatment areas. Ensures that hallways are free of equipment and supplies. Ensures that supplies are stored in compliance with the Joint Commission standards.
• Cleans treatment areas, equipment, and treatment materials/toys after each session in collaboration with therapists.
• Ensures compliance of expiration dates and refrigerator temperatures and takes action to remedy the situation if needed.
• Responsible for working with clinical engineering department at maintaining missing equipment report.
• Collects and ensures delivery of instruments and equipment to sterile processing or food services department.
• Greets patient and family in a welcoming manner, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.
• Manages telephone calls and documents information appropriately as needed to support the Clinic Coordinator and clinic operations.

Education:

• High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) preferred.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a pediatric healthcare environment preferred or relevant education.

Licenses and Certifications:

• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required

Schedule:

• This position is as needed, with the expectation of working 2 Saturdays per month in our Mequon clinic.
