Job summary

Advocate Health in Manitowoc, WI, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support patient care in outpatient rehabilitation. You will assist with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiopulmonary treatments, document progress, and help plan discharges under supervision.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy and a Wisconsin PTA license, plus BLS within 6 months. Typical schedule includes 32 hours per week with clinic hours Mon-Thu 7:00am–6:00pm and Fri 7:00am–5:30pm;

Qualifications

• Intermediate computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organization, decision-making, and problem solving skills.
• Certification Addendum: maintain annual educational requirements for hospital-based certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Physical Therapist in treatment of patient’s musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and/or integumentary systems; documents progress and treatment plans.
• Monitors and notifies supervisory therapist of patient response to treatment.
• Plans for patient discharge including home programs and family teaching; orders equipment with supervisor direction.
• Completes all required documentation with co-signatures; handles billing and scheduling records.
• Keeps area clean and organized; assists with transporting and patient handling as needed.
• Demonstrates modality and exercise techniques and understands indications/contraindications.
• Participates in performance improvement and coverage planning; contributes to department needs.
• Pursues professional growth and orients new staff; participates in evaluations.
