Job summary

Independent Living Systems (ILS) is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant in West Palm Beach, FL to support licensed Physical Therapists in outpatient rehabilitation. You will implement treatment plans, supervise therapeutic exercises, and monitor patient progress to improve mobility and reduce pain.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited PTA program.
• Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the United States.
• Basic knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and physical therapy modalities.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and treatment plans developed by Physical Therapists.
• Physical capability to lift and carry heavy weights as required by patient care activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring proper technique and safety.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment by following universal precautions and infection control protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide compassionate support and education.
• Handle equipment setup, maintenance, and assist with lifting or transferring patients as needed in an outpatient setting.
• Participate in voluntary insurance programs and administrative tasks related to patient care documentation.
