Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida invites a licensed Physical Therapist to join our team at 3310 Waterman Way, Tavares. This full-time role requires designing and managing patient-focused care plans, supervising assistants, and ensuring compliance with practice standards.

You'll work days with opportunities for professional development and travel to clinics as needed. A Doctorate is preferred, with BLS, PT licenses required.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Entry level competency of physical therapy practice, theory, principles, and applications as defined in competency/department policies.
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Document and follow standards of practice and insurance guidelines.
• Design and implement plan of care based on patient needs and practice standards.
• Oversee care by PT assistants and rehab aides per regulations.
• Adjust work hours to meet patient needs and support other centers.

Job Description:

Schedule: 40 hours per week Flexible options for schedule Monday- Friday

Location: 3310 WATERMAN WAY, Tavares, 32778 With some travel to other clinics as needed

Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures. Participates in marketing to physicians and physician practices to build referral relationships. Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards. Participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships. Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community. Adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers and programs as approved and observed by the manager or director. Practices principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence-based practices, and serving as a clinical instructor. Oversees the care provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards. Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required. Determines physical therapy diagnosis and establishes a plan of care, making recommendations for referral if treatment is needed outside the scope of physical therapist practice. Designs and implements treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards, recommended techniques, modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient needs. Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluates muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems.
Monitors patient response and progress to treatment, modifying the treatment plan as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.
