Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group Newton Outpatient Clinic is seeking a Physical Therapist for a full-time day shift (40 hours weekly). You will provide physical therapy services as directed by medical staff, assess patients, and design plans to restore function and relieve pain.

Essential duties include obtaining information from physicians, planning and implementing therapy programs, applying tests, and guiding manual therapy, exercises, gait, and functional training. Iowa license and BLS required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapist educational program.
• Licensed to practice physical therapy in Iowa.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtain information from physician(s) needed for diagnosis, prescribed therapy, and patient evaluation.
• Plan and implement appropriate therapy program for assigned patients, involving physical agents and activities.
• Apply diagnostic and prognostic tests of muscle, nerve, joint and physical ability.
• Direct and aid with manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, gait, and functional training.
• Direct patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches, and devices.
