Job summary

Essenti Talent is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for outpatient services in Ithaca, NY. The role is onsite with daytime/evening shifts and occasional weekends, supporting diverse patients under a supervising Physical Therapist.

You will contribute to treatment plans, educate patients and families, and help discharge planning with home exercise programs. Prior outpatient experience is preferred; new graduates may be considered.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Current New York State PTA license or eligibility.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Must complete yearly safety in-services and HealthStream trainings.
• Outpatient experience preferred; new graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled PT treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Instruct and assist patients with exercises, gait, balance and ADLs.
• Assist patients with use of assistive devices.
• Apply modalities as directed by Physical Therapist.
• Document patient responses and progress.
• Communicate progress and modify plans with the PT.
• Participate in discharge planning and home exercise programs.
• Educate patients and families on exercises, safety and home programs.
• Document care and charges in the EMR.
• Maintain NY state compliance and facility policies.
