Qualifications

• Education: Accredited PTA program with an Associate's degree.
• Licensure: NY PTA license or eligibility required.
• Certification: CPR certification current.
• Training: Annual safety in-services and HealthStream modules.
• Experience: Outpatient or clinical experience preferred; new grads considered.

Responsabilités

• Provides PTA services under licensed Physical Therapist supervision.
• Implements treatment plans addressing patient goals and needs.
• Instructs patients in therapeutic exercises and daily activities.
• Assists with devices and safe use of assistive devices.
• Administers modalities (hot/cold packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation).
• Performs therapeutic activities and manual therapy within scope.
• Monitors patient responses and reports progress to PT.
• Documents care and charges in the EMR system.
• Contributes to discharge planning and home exercise programs.
• Educates patients and families on exercises, safety, and home program continuation.
