AdventHealth Apopka is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to implement treatment plans and collect patient data under the supervision of a physical therapist. You will document care, communicate progress, and support other rehabilitation staff in a fast-paced clinic setting.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's degree and PTA certification, with BLS CPR. Strong EMR skills and patient-focused communication are essential for delivering high-quality care.

Qualificações

• Associate's degree required.
• PTA or PTA-TEMP required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Experience with EMR and MS Office is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Implements individualized treatment plans based on PT evaluations and practice standards.
• Collects patient data and communicates discharge recommendations to PTs.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely per CPT codes and policies.
• Oversees rehabilitation aides and coordinates with students and staff.
• Maintains productivity and adjusts hours to meet patient needs.

Job Description

• Location: Adventhealth Sports Med and Rehab Apopka (100 Ocoee Apopka Rd Suite 30, Apopka, FL 32703). May be required to support other West Orlando locations.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10am-7pm
• Practices principles of employee and patient safety during daily job activities.
• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community.
• Implements individualized treatment plans based on physical therapy evaluations and through consideration of practice standards, recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
• Modifies treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments in consultation with physical therapist.
• Collects patient data and communicates with the physical therapists regarding discharge recommendations when maximum benefit has been achieved.
• Documents patient care accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department/hospital policies.
• Charges patients accurately and timely according to CPT code format, price file, and insurance guidelines.
• Oversees the care provided by rehabilitation aides according to established regulations and practice standards, and may involve coordinating activities of rehabilitation aides, students, and other support personnel.
• Evaluates and interprets patient data relative to age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms, modifying approaches and communication skills accordingly.
• Identifies the need for patient and caregiver education, utilizing opportunities for teaching and documenting understanding as appropriate.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports departmental quality standards and initiatives.
• Maintains clinical competencies through professional development, best practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Ability to read, write, and speak conversational English effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic formats
