Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a phlebotomy technician to support outpatient services and offsite labs at the DCI Southpoint location. Mon–Fri, 1:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., you will perform routine and specialized blood collection, processing, and specimen handling to support accurate diagnoses.

You will procure specimens, label and document properly, and interact professionally with patients and healthcare staff. Prior phlebotomy experience and a relevant certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy and specimen processing knowledge.
• Strong communication skills for patient interaction.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with hospital information systems.

Responsibilities

• Procure, process, and evaluate patient specimens for diagnosis and treatment.
• Perform routine and specialized phlebotomy procedures.
• Label specimens, ensure proper patient identification, and maintain accurate records.
• Operate hospital information systems and software to enter orders and track specimens.
• Assist with clerical tasks and office records as needed.
