Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to join its outpatient service centers across the Greater Columbus Area. Responsibilities include venipuncture, capillary draws, specimen labeling and processing, and assisting with registration and accessioning of procedures.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of relevant experience; phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant experience is required.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for specimen collection.
• Label and process specimens and dispatch to appropriate testing locations.
• Train others in phlebotomy techniques and quality control practices.
• Handle test requisition entry and assist with patient registration/accessioning.
• Greet and direct patients and maintain chain of custody for drug-screen collections as applicable.
